Precision On Site Machining at a Power Station
Overview
A major power station required urgent replacement of a leaking joint within a section of critical pipework. The repair demanded exceptional accuracy to ensure minimal disruption to generation. Benroc Engineering was appointed to design and deliver a bespoke machining solution capable of meeting the client’s strict operational requirements.
Challenge
The joint failure presented a significant operational risk, and the power station required complete confidence in both the methodology and equipment before work began. Due to the critical nature of the pipework, the client requested a full test and demonstration prior to any on‑site machining.
Our Approach
Benroc Engineering’s team of specialists designed a custom on‑site machining system tailored specifically to the pipework configuration. To validate performance and ensure full client confidence:

- The demonstration was witnessed and approved by the client’s engineering team

With approval secured, the equipment was deployed to site. Thanks to detailed preparation, the machining operation ran exactly to plan. The entire cutting and finishing process was completed smoothly and ahead of schedule.
